## Executive GIST (TL;DR)
- The study performed a Turkish-language validity and reliability assessment of the **Preterm Infant Breastfeeding Behavior Scale (PIBBS)** in a neonatal clinical setting. - The cohort included preterm infants and their mothers with gestational ages of 33–37 weeks, hospitalized in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units and Gynecology and Obstetrics wards of Bursa City Hospital. - Data collection instruments listed were a Demographic/Obstetric and Neonatal Characteristics Form, **PIBBS**, and the Bristol Breastfeeding Assessment Scale (**BBAT**). - Content validity: Item-level Content Validity Index (CVI) ranged from 0.89 to 1.0; scale-level CVI was 0.963, according to the abstract. - Construct/criterion alignment: total **PIBBS** score correlated strongly with **BBAT** (r = 0.868; p < 0.001), indicating concurrent validity with an established breastfeeding assessment tool. - Test–retest stability: the first and second PIBBS measurements showed a very strong positive correlation (r = 0.841; p < 0.001), supporting temporal reliability. - Interrater/item agreement: Kappa values for individual PIBBS items fell between 0.805 and 0.933, implying substantial-to-almost-perfect agreement on item scoring. - Internal consistency: Cronbach’s alpha was 0.893, consistent with high internal reliability for the scale in this sample. - The authors recommended training health professionals in the use of **PIBBS** for evaluating sucking skills in preterm infants and suggested wider adoption; specific training content and sample size were not detailed in the abstract. - The source text did not report granular methodological details (sample size, exact administration procedures, timing of retest, or rater training) in the abstract; full-text review would be required for those specifics.

Demographic/Obstetric and Neonatal Characteristics Form, PIBBS, and Bristol Breastfeeding Assessment Scale (BBAT) were used to collect research data. **Results:** The Content Validity Index at the Item Level was between 0.89 and 1, and the Content Validity Index at the Scale Level was 0.963. A positive and high correlation was found at the level of (_r_ = 0.868; _p_ < 0.001) between the total score of PIBBS and BBAT. A very strong positive correlation was observed between the first PIBBS measurement score and the retest second PIBBS measurement score (_r_ = 0.841; _p_ < 0.001). Kappa values for each item of PIBBS were between 0.805 and 0.933. Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient was 0.893. **Conclusion:** Health professionals who care for preterm infants can be trained on the use of PIBBS in the evaluation of sucking skills of preterm infants and its use can be made widespread. **Keywords:** behavior; breastfeeding; infant; preterm; reliability; validity.
