## Executive GIST (TL;DR)
- The source is a bioRxiv preprint titled “Inflammatory burning pain depends on a specific line of nociceptors.” - The manuscript lists multiple authors affiliated with Imperial College London, Medical University of Innsbruck, University of Pécs, University of Debrecen, Universitat de Valencia, University of Dundee, Southwest Medical University and other institutions; a DOI is provided (https://doi.org/10.64898/2026.09.14.748479). - The document is explicitly a preprint and has not undergone peer review; the bioRxiv notice about unrefereed content is included. - From the available excerpt, the study topic concerns **inflammatory burning pain** and a specific lineage or population of **nociceptors** implicated in that phenotype. - The provided source excerpt contains author names, affiliations, and administrative metadata but does not include experimental methods, results, figures, or specific conclusions. - Key experimental details (animal models, molecular markers, electrophysiology, behavioural assays, manipulations, or mechanistic findings) were not reported in the accessible excerpt and therefore cannot be summarized or restated. - Because the core methods and outcomes are missing from the excerpt, no definitive claims about causal relationships, therapeutic targets, or clinical implications can be drawn from this source alone. - Readers and clinicians should consult the full preprint at the DOI/link provided to access complete methods, results, data, and the authors’ interpretations before applying or citing the findings. - The preprint status means findings should be interpreted cautiously until peer review and replication are completed.

Inflammation up-regulates and activates MSK1, and MSK1 governs TRPV1 expression in the MSK1 and TRPV1 co-expressing mouse and human nociceptors. Importantly, inhibition of inflammatory MSK1-mediated TRPV1 upregulation protects from heat hypersensitivity without affecting other relevant TRPV1 functions, such as the sensation of acute painful heat stimuli or the maintenance of the body core temperature. The newly discovered importance of the interaction between MSK1 and TRPV1 in a specific line of nociceptors provides mechanistic understanding of inflammatory pain and heat hyperalgesia pathogenesis.
