## Executive GIST (TL;DR)
- This single-center, single-arm study evaluated a standardized 12-week **multimodal Japanese-style acupuncture and moxibustion (MJAM)** program for persistent taxane-related **chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN)** in breast cancer survivors. - Eligible participants were women with stage I–III breast cancer who completed curative treatment at least 3 months earlier and had moderate-to-severe CIPN pain (Brief Pain Inventory **BPI item 5** score ≥4). - The MJAM program combined filiform needle acupuncture, non-insertive (Teishin) therapy, motion-style acupuncture, indirect moxibustion, hot packs, and self-care instruction, delivered in 12 weekly sessions. - Thirty participants (median age 58.0 years) were enrolled between October 2022 and April 2024; median time since chemotherapy completion was 2.47 years. Mean baseline BPI item 5 was 5.3 (SD 1.7). - Twenty-eight participants (93.3%) completed the treatment. Nine participants (30.0%) experienced mild (grade 1) adverse events; no serious adverse events were reported. - The primary endpoint was change in **BPI item 5 (average pain)** from baseline to week 16. BPI item 5 scores decreased over time with statistically significant reductions at weeks 8, 12, and 16. Change from baseline: week 4 -0.1 (p=0.56), week 8 -0.7 (p=0.008), week 12 -1.1 (p=0.0003), week 16 -1.2 (90%CI -1.7 to -0.8; p<0.0001). - Authors concluded MJAM was safe, feasible, and associated with pain reduction in breast cancer survivors with persistent taxane-related CIPN, and recommended a confirmatory randomized clinical trial. - Trial registration: UMIN-CTR UMIN000048478. Ethics approval: National Cancer Center IRB (NCCIRB2021-500). Authors declared no competing interests.
