BROWARD COUNTY, Fla., May 20, 2026 — The 2026 Broward County Go Red for Women Luncheon inspired and empowered this year’s participants to learn about women’s heart health while supporting lifesaving research, education and advocacy. On May 14, participants dressed in red and gathered at the Pier Sixty-Six Aviva Ballroom for the American Heart Association’s annual Go Red for Women Luncheon. The program honored survivors, celebrated advancements in heart health and raised $432,000 to support lifesaving research, education and advocacy for women right here in our community. This year’s event also introduced a first-ever wellness pop-up, offering attendees a dedicated space for connection, reflection and self-care. The Go Red for Women Luncheon featured 2026–2027 Event Chair Daren Koenig Cronin, who shared her personal connection to the cause and energized the audience to support and give. The program was hosted by news anchors Trina Robinson of NBC 6 and Alejandra Molina of Telemundo 51, who have served as emcees and supported the event for several years. At the event, attendees heard from Giselle Cushing, southeast region president at Aetna, a CVS Health company, who shared her personal connection to the mission. The program also included a powerful story from a local family who survived a drowning incident, underscoring the importance of CPR awareness, as well as insights into critical work taking place in Broward County to improve maternal health outcomes. “Cardiovascular disease is still the No. 1 killer of women, and events like this one are essential to raising awareness and providing education so women understand their risks — and how to reduce them,” said Daren Koenig Cronin, 2026 and 2027 Broward County Go Red for Women event chair and executive at City Furniture. “That includes the importance of learning CPR, which can save lives in critical moments. Together, we can ensure every woman is supported and no one faces this journey alone.” Go Red for Women is meeting the health and wellness needs of women at every age, stage and season of life as a trusted and relevant source for credible health solutions. About Go Red for Women® The American Heart Association’s signature initiative, Go Red for Women®, is a comprehensive platform designed to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women globally. While the majority of cardiac events can be prevented, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in women, claiming the lives of 1 in 3 women. For more than two decades, Go Red for Women has encouraged awareness. The movement harnesses the energy, passion and power of women to band together and collectively wipe out heart disease. It challenges them to know their risk for heart disease and take action to reduce their personal risk. It also gives them tools they need to lead a heart healthy life. The Go Red for Women movement is nationally sponsored by CVS Health, with additional support from national cause supporters.
