Extract We have read the correspondence from M. Sun and co-workers with great interest and appreciate their engagement with our study, which combined spatial transcriptomics and single-cell RNA sequencing to resolve fibroblast heterogeneity across fibroblastic foci (FF) and dense fibrosis (DF) in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), regions characterised by p21-activated kinase 2 (PAK2) activation as a potential therapeutic target [1]. We would like to offer a few comments in response to their thoughtful remarks.
