64Cu-SAR-bis- prostate-specific membrane-antigen positron emission tomography (PSMA PET) has higher detection and true positive rate than 68Ga-PSMA-11-PET (standard of care PSMA-PET) in men with biochemical recurrence at low prostate-specific antigen levels following radical prostatectomy. This led to management changes involving treatment intensification in 44%. PSMA-PET technology improvements have implications for better personalisation of targeted treatment options in early recurrent prostate cancer and warrants further investigation.
European Urology published a clinical update in Research Highlights on 27 Mar 2026.
