In the recently published article “Can Colonoscopy Still Be Promoted as the Best Choice for Colorectal Cancer Screening?,” Ladabaum et al1 propose that noncolonoscopy-based screening, particularly fecal immunochemical testing (FIT), may represent the optimal population-level strategy for reducing colorectal cancer (CRC) mortality. Although the authors present a thoughtful population health framework, I respectfully disagree with both the premise and the conclusions advanced.
