Fibrolamellar carcinoma (FLC) is a rare primary liver cancer that predominantly affects young patients with normal known serum tumor biomarkers. An observation of elevated procalcitonin (PCT) in one patient prompted us to investigate PCT as a biomarker in a larger FLC cohort.
