Our study shows that apurinic/apyrimidinic endonuclease–redox function drives SRY-Box Transcription Factor 9 activation under reflux and chemotherapy stress, offering a promising therapeutic strategy to target the “undruggable” SRY-Box Transcription Factor 9 transcriptional network to overcome both intrinsic and acquired chemoresistance.
