We appreciate the comments by Fan et al 1 on our recent publication entitled 'Hepatitis B surface antigen level identifies patients with inactive chronic hepatitis B from Asia with HCC risk below surveillance threshold'. 2 They also shared their data from 4386 patients with inactive chronic hepatitis B (CHB), which showed similarities with our findings.
