Author Correction: Mitochondrial DNA oxidation enables pDC-driven TFH differentiation — figure upd

Correction summary and context

This document is an official Author Correction to the Nature Immunology article originally published online 17 June 2025 (DOI: 10.1038/s41590-025-02179-7). The correction was published on 31 July 2026 and amends the published record to address incorrect representative images that appeared in the originally published article.

The original article investigated mechanisms by which mitochondrial DNA oxidation influences autoimmunity and described a role for plasmacytoid dendritic cells in promoting TFH differentiation. This correction notice is limited to presentation errors in specific figures and does not report any changes to the article text, numerical data or study conclusions in the notice itself. Details of figures corrected

The correction specifies incorrect representative images in the following figure panels of the original article:

• Fig. 1a: the rows labeled “58 d” and “100 d” contained incorrect representative images.
• Fig. 5q: the row labeled “None” contained an incorrect representative image. This image inadvertently duplicated the PLA (DNA/IgG) negative-control condition that also appeared in Fig. 5r.

These presentation errors involved representative images and the duplication of a negative-control image across panels.

Changes made to figure presentation and controls

To correct the record, Nature Immunology has updated the HTML and PDF versions of the article with the corrected figures. In addition, the editors/authors removed the PLA (DNA/IgG) negative-control row from Fig. 5r because that negative-control condition is already displayed in Fig. 5p and Fig. 5q; removing the duplicate row prevents redundancy and clarifies the figure presentation.

The correction notice indicates that the erroneous images have been replaced in the online article files. The notice does not describe any other alterations to experimental data, labels, or textual content, and does not report changes to study methods, results or conclusions.

Availability of original figures and supplementary information

For transparency and comparison, the original (incorrect) versions of Figures 1 and 5 are provided as Supplementary Information that accompanies this amendment. A PDF containing the original figures is linked from the correction notice so readers can view the uncorrected images alongside the amended article.
