To the Editor A recent Review, which provided a detailed account of the current state of care for patients with metabolic dysfunction–associated steatohepatitis (MASH), outlined a diagnostic algorithm centered on sequential use of the Fibrosis-4 (FIB-4) index followed by vibration-controlled transient elastography. However, recent data highlighted that this strategy has a substantial risk of not identifying patients with metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) who may benefit most from early treatment.
