To the Editor A recent randomized clinical trial found that a fully automated, artificial intelligence (AI)–driven Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) achieved noninferior weight loss and glycemic improvements compared with a human coach DPP among adults with prediabetes and overweight or obesity. This study represents an important step toward understanding how AI can enhance behavioral interventions for chronic disease prevention and shifts perspective from viewing AI as a supplementary tool to recognizing it as an autonomous participant in preventive care.
