In Reply We appreciate the comments from Drs Zavaleta-Monestel and Arguedas-Chacón about our recent trial. Regarding the noninferiority margin, we applied the US Food and Drug Administration guidance to preserve at least half of the effect demonstrated by the human-led DPP in its efficacy-establishing trial, and we selected an even more conservative margin for clinical acceptability. We agree that the effects of the AI-led DPP on long-term diabetes incidence warrant future study.
