In Reply We thank Soldano and colleagues for their thoughtful letter and for advancing a discussion we view as essential: how to translate an evolving evidence base into developmentally appropriate guidance that supports adolescent well-being. We agree that social media’s relationship with well-being is complex, context dependent, and unlikely to be uniform across adolescents. We agree that translating emerging evidence into policy requires careful attention to developmental stage, context, and the limits of causal inference.
