Simplifying treatment strategies and expanding treatment indications represent future directions in the management of chronic hepatitis B (CHB).1,2 Recently, the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL), the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), and the World Health Organization (WHO) updated their guidelines on CHB with modified treatment indications.3–5 However, treatment eligibility criteria remain inconsistent across guidelines, and treatment coverage under these guidelines has not been fully assessed.
