This guideline update expands the therapeutic framework for early-stage liver cancer by supplementing treatment recommendations for stereotactic radiotherapy, thereby enriching the spectrum of available local treatment options1. One notable issue is whether the potential for liver transplantation should be systematically assessed immediately after the diagnosis of early-stage liver cancer. Based on our routine clinical experience, only a very small proportion of patients ultimately proceed to liver transplantation.
