Monument Health to lease shuttered Gillette clinic

Rapid City, S.D.-based Monument Health will lease the clinic and equipment previously operated by Hoskinson Health & Wellness Clinic in Gillette, Wyo., according to a July 1 news release shared with Becker’s. Monument Health said it will operate the location as a multi-specialty clinic and bring in providers and staff after Hoskinson’s decision to stop operating.

The two organizations are working together on the transition in an effort to reduce disruption for current patients. Monument Health said a final provider roster will be released once details are confirmed. Patients have been encouraged to keep scheduling appointments as usual while the health system finalizes an opening date.

The Hoskinson family said the clinic was originally intended to bring Mayo Clinic-level care to Gillette, and that the move to a Mayo Clinic Care Network member fulfills that goal. Monument Health providers, as part of the network, have access to Mayo Clinic expertise and resources, which the system said will now be available to patients in Gillette as well.

The Gillette clinic currently employs 15 physicians along with a full support staff. Monument Health President and CEO Paulette Davidson said the community deserves access to high-quality care close to home and that the organization is committed to ensuring patients continue to have a place to turn for needed care.

Monument Health said the expansion will extend its footprint into eastern Wyoming. The system currently operates five hospitals and more than 40 clinics and specialty centers across 31 specialties in western South Dakota and eastern Wyoming, with more than 6,300 physicians and caregivers systemwide.

An official opening date for the Gillette clinic has not yet been announced.
