Axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) is the standard of care for patients with node-positive breast cancer after neoadjuvant chemotherapy or upfront surgery. The use of tailored axillary surgery (TAS) to reduce axillary tumour burden to a degree where radiotherapy might be able to control the remaining extent of disease could reduce morbidity.
