JACKSONVILLE, Fla. June 8, 2026 - The Jacksonville community rallied together at the First Coast Go Red for Women Health Summit and Luncheon to support the fight against cardiovascular disease (CVD), the leading cause of death in women.
The event, benefiting the American Heart Association , a relentless force changing the future of health for everyone, was held at the GuideWell and Florida Blue Conference Center and raised more than $550,000 to address critical gaps in research, education and care for women. The luncheon is part of the Association's signature women's initiative, Go Red for Women ® .
Since its founding in 2004, the movement has met the evolving health needs of women and addressed the awareness and clinical care disparities related to cardiovascular disease. This year's luncheon centered around the message "Red Means Go", a reminder that while red often signals stop, women's heart health can't wait.
Nearly half of women aged 20 and older are living with some form of cardiovascular disease. Nonetheless, women continue to be underrepresented in cardiovascular research, making awareness and action critical.
