Clinical Validation of a Simulation-Based Mastery Learning Curriculum for Colonoscopy and Polype

Colonoscopy with polypectomy is a core procedure performed by practicing gastroenterologists.1 Yet, there is no universal method for performing polypectomy, despite the high volume of procedures performed annually. Lack of standardized training for practicing gastroenterologists leads to highly variable skills in polypectomy.2–4 Simulation-based mastery learning (SBML) is one method that can standardize training and ensure procedural competency in clinical practice.5
