Saline Health System has named Josh Orzel, BSN, RN, as chief nursing officer after he served in the role on an interim basis since March.
Saline Health System has appointed Josh Orzel, BSN, RN, as chief nursing officer, according to a July 9 news release shared with Becker’s. He had been serving in the position on an interim basis since March.
Mr. Orzel brings more than 16 years of healthcare leadership experience to the role. His previous positions included chief nursing officer at Select Specialty Hospital in Mechanicsburg, Pa., and assistant chief nursing officer at Havasu Regional Medical Center in Havasu City, Ariz.
In the new role, Mr. Orzel said he plans to focus on keeping Saline’s nursing workforce supported and resourced. He said his priority is making sure patients are cared for by staff who feel prepared and supported, rather than stretched thin. He added that when nurses have what they need, patients and families notice the difference.
Saline Health System is an affiliate of Brentwood, Tenn.-based Lifepoint Health. Lifepoint CEO Char Boulch, RN, said Mr. Orzel earned the team’s confidence during his interim tenure through his accessibility and his commitment to doing what is right for patients.
Saline Health includes Saline Memorial Hospital, a 177-bed acute care facility serving Saline County in Arkansas, as well as a network of primary care and specialty clinics.
