Community Clinic signed a letter of intent to acquire four Baptist Health Family Clinic locations in Arkansas’ River Valley. The proposed deal is still subject to regulatory review and a definitive agreement.
Springdale, Ark.-based Community Clinic has signed a letter of intent to acquire four Baptist Health Family Clinic locations in Arkansas’ River Valley, according to a June 30 news release. The sites under consideration are in Alma, Greenwood, Fort Smith and Van Buren, Ark. If completed, the deal would mark Community Clinic’s first expansion into the region.
Little Rock, Ark.-based Baptist Health currently owns the facilities. The proposed transaction still must be reviewed by the Health Resources and Services Administration, receive additional regulatory approval and be finalized through a definitive agreement. The process is expected to take months.
The planned acquisition comes after months of service reductions and layoffs at Baptist Health’s Fort Smith campus, including the April closure of its labor and delivery unit. Additional details were not reported in the source.
